Healthy Ireland at Your Library is a nationwide initiative, which Donegal Library Service are delighted to be a part of. It aims to increase health awareness in the areas of Mental Health, Physical Health and Healthy Eating. All 13 libraries in Donegal have a set of 102 health books in a designated Healthy Ireland section.
Events have been running in Donegal libraries to promote health awareness. These have included Chef Brian McDermott’s cookery demonstration in Central Library, Stella O’Malley’s “Bully Proof Kids” talks in Buncrana Library and Dr Mary O’Kane is confirmed to provide “Childhood worries and Anxieties” talks in Bundoran, Twin Towns and Ballyshannon libraries in March.
