Donegal Regional finalists Cliodhna McHugh and Andrew Galvin

Congratulations to Donegal finalists Andrew Galvin (over 19 yrs) & Cliodhna McHugh, Keegan School of Speech & Drama (under18 yrs)  who spoke passionately on the motion ‘The Internet Does More Harm than Good’ at Farmleigh House, Dublin last Wednesday 12 November 2014.

They battled it out with 14 other contestants with Cliodhna winning a trip to Brussels for 2, courtesy of MEP Matt Carthy, as runner-up in her category.

Matt Carthy congratulated all participants in a very close competition and highlighted the importance of having the confidence to speak out both publicly and privately. He especially mentioned being chair of the judging panel in Donegal where standards were very high and young people had the courage to speak out on subjects such as cyber bullying and stalking.
