With Christmas fast approaching, there seems to be no shortage of events celebrating the holiday season around the county. So to help get you in the mood this holiday season, Donegal Library Service is running ‘Family Time at Your Library’ events in seven libraries throughout December.

Family Time at Your Library’ is part of the national Right to Read campaign which supports a family-focused approach to children’s reading with the aim of promoting reading as a fun recreational activity for children.

The aims of Family Time at Your Library’ are to:

  • support a family-focused approach to reading with children as part of the national  Right to Read programme
  •  To increase awareness of the benefits of reading and promote reading as a fun,  recreational activity for children
  • To increase awareness among parents and families of services and resources for children  in public libraries and support further engagement between users and library staff

So to anticipate the joy of snuggling down with a really good book over the Christmas holidays, come along to one of our events which are free of charge and open to everyone.
