In Ballyshannon Library you are guaranteed a warm welcome.  Located in a town steeped in history, Ballyshannon Library has access to a wealth of local studies material.  There has been a long tradition of public libraries in Ballyshannon and indeed it has been in the past and still is home to many artists, writers and musicians.  Why not visit and enjoy a browse through our collection.  Friendly staff are on hand to assist in any way possible.  Library staff also schedule school visits to Ballyshannon Library.  

 

 

Our free Library membership grants you access to many services in branch and online for free. Borrow items from us and return to any public library in Ireland. There is a facility to reserve and renew your loans online. Teachers and childcare providers have the possibility to taking larger loans for a longer period (40 books for 84 days). To avail of this please bring a letter from the school when signing up.

We offer many services to the public during opening hours. Above are some of our more popular services, which include laminating facilities. Library membership is free, as are many of the services we provide. However, some services incur a small fee.

We can provide access to book club stock to private book clubs in the area upon request, and run a weekly conversational Irish group on Wednesday afternoons. We also offer a range of activities and events from time to time. View the What’s On Calendar for up to date information. 

 

 

Donegal Town Branch Library is situated in the Donegal ETB building on the Killybegs Road and is located just off the Diamond.  Donegal Town and its environs has wonderful tourist attractions, and its many visitors enjoy a wealth of history and culture which can be further explored through Co.
