READ DL 2017

Join us in Donegal’s One Book, One Community project, READ DL. This years’ book The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis is a gripping, insightful novel into the life of young Afghan girl Parvana and her family under Taliban rule.

READ DL is a reading movement that aims to bring Donegal communities together by giving them a shared experience of reading the one book for a period of time in the year! In 2017, those dates are from Thursday 19th January until Thursday 2nd March. Children and their families in Donegal were encouraged to read and discuss the chosen book, along with taking part in various activities held in schools, libraries and in the community.

Join us in our online discussion about this years book, or any book for that matter.

Pop into your local library today to borrow a copy. Alternatively, reserve your copy for collection at your local library now by booking online here. All you need is your library card and pin.

Everyone has the opportunity to take part in the 2017 Read DL Creative Writing Competition

For families, groups and anyone who is reading the book with us, there are additional resources available to download to help you get the most out of the Read DL experience.
