It's Never too Late....

It took 82 years, but a very rare book ‘The White Owl’ by Annie M.P. Smithson finally found its way back to Donegal Library Services.

The book, which was published by Talbot Press in 1937, was returned to Leabharlann Phobail Ghaoth Dobhair on the 17th of May 2019, after being on loan since 1937.

It was found during a house clearance in the Falcarragh area and very kindly returned to the library. “I couldn’t believe my eyes on Friday morning when the book was returned to us after such a long time. We are so thankful to the person who brought it in”, said Denis McGeady, Senior Library Assistant at Leabharlann Phobail Ghaoth Dobhair.

Overdue fines have been abolished in all Irish public libraries since 1st January 2019, so any overdue books (even after 82 years) can now be returned to your local library without hesitation.
